About TrueUSD (BSC) (TUSD)

Stablecoin

TrueUSD (BSC) (TUSD) is a US-dollar stablecoin built to trade at roughly $1 at all times. It combines the speed and global reach of crypto with the price stability people expect from a dollar.

How does TUSD stay stable?

TUSD aims to keep its dollar peg through reserves and on-chain mechanisms that back each token in circulation. Because it settles on the BSC network in seconds, it's widely used for trading, payments, and parking funds between trades without converting back to a bank account.

What is TUSD used for?

Traders use TUSD as a safe haven during volatility, as the quote currency in swaps, and to send dollar-denominated value worldwide at low cost. It's one of the most common assets to swap into and out of when entering or exiting other crypto positions.

How a TUSD swap works

Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send TUSD to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.

Choosing a rate for TUSD

Three offers are presented for every TUSD exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.

Networks and addresses for TUSD

TrueUSD (BSC) settles on BSC. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

TrueUSD built its reputation on frequent reserve attestations. How does that model work, and what does its announced transition to USDD mean for someone holding TUSD today?

A dollar stablecoin is only as useful as the confidence people have that each token is backed. TrueUSD's distinctive approach was to publish reserve attestations far more often than most issuers, and to connect minting to on-chain checks of reserve coverage. The issuer now displays an announcement of a transition from TUSD to USDD, which makes it especially important to understand how the token works and where it lives.

What TrueUSD is

TrueUSD is a stablecoin designed to track the US dollar one to one. Its official site describes it as the first USD-pegged stablecoin to deploy daily attestations of its underlying reserves by independent third-party institutions, and names Moore Hong Kong as the accounting firm carrying out that attestation work.

The site also explains that minting and redemption are handled through smart contracts that check reserve coverage in real time on chain, supported by Chainlink Proof of Reserve. In practical terms, the design aims to stop new tokens being created unless the reported reserves cover them.

TrueUSD states that it does not charge fees for minting and redemption, and that users create and verify an account on its website, including email verification and two-factor authentication, before they can mint or redeem directly with the issuer.[1], [2], [3], [4], [5]

How transparency is presented

The transparency page publishes a breakdown of circulating supply per network and explains that the attestation reports cover the state and composition of reserves. The stated reasoning is that shorter reporting intervals give holders a more current view than monthly or quarterly reports.

This matters because a stablecoin's main risk is not price volatility but the gap between what holders are promised and what actually backs the token. Frequent, independently prepared reports narrow the window in which that gap could go unnoticed, although an attestation is a point-in-time check rather than a full financial audit.[6], [1]

Where TUSD lives

TrueUSD lists four natively deployed networks: Ethereum, TRON, Avalanche and BNB Smart Chain. It also lists bridged versions on Polygon, Arbitrum, Cronos, Optimism and Aurora. The issuer notes that its own app supports only the native versions.

The distinction between native and bridged tokens is more than a technicality. A native token is issued directly by TrueUSD on that chain; a bridged token is a representation created by a separate bridge contract, and redeeming it with the issuer may require moving it back to a native chain first.

The version SwapRocket lists for this page runs on BNB Smart Chain, which is one of the native networks.[7], [8], [9]

The announced transition

The TrueUSD site currently shows an announcement titled "TrueUSD Announces Transition from TUSD to USDD". The details of that transition, including any conversion process, timetable or change to redemption, are set out in the announcement itself rather than on the pages reviewed here.[10]

The open question

The practical terms of the move from TUSD to USDD, such as whether holders need to convert, by when, and whether existing TUSD remains redeemable on every network, are UNKNOWN from the official pages reviewed. Anyone holding a meaningful amount should read the issuer's announcement directly before acting.

More broadly, a stablecoin's usefulness depends on liquidity on the networks people actually use. As an issuer shifts focus, liquidity on some chains or bridged versions may thin out, which can widen the gap between the quoted and the received amount on a swap.[10], [8]

What this means if you swap TUSD

Match the network exactly. TUSD on BNB Smart Chain, Ethereum, TRON and Avalanche are separate tokens at separate contract addresses, and bridged versions are different again. Sending to the wrong network is one of the most common ways stablecoins get lost.

Read the issuer's transition announcement before you buy or hold TUSD for any length of time, so you know whether a conversion step applies to you.

Because TUSD aims to hold a dollar value, check the amount you will receive rather than focusing on the rate, and treat any noticeable discount as a sign to look more closely at liquidity on that network.
