About SKALE (SKL)
Crypto token
SKALE (SKL) is a crypto token on the ETH network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.
How does SKL work?
SKALE runs as a token on the ETH network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.
What is SKL used for?
Holders use SKL to participate in the SKALE ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a SKL swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send SKL to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for SKL
Three offers are presented for every SKL exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for SKL
SKALE settles on ETH. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

SKALE promises application chains with zero-gas transactions, yet SKL itself is not their gas token. What jobs does SKL perform, and how does the network separate security from everyday transaction fees?
SKL is the utility token securing SKALE Network. It is delegated to validators, used in governance and paid by developers for chain resources. Users transact with sFUEL instead, an important distinction in understanding SKALE’s zero-gas design.
Security without user gas fees
SKALE is a delegated-proof-of-stake network built around application-specific chains. Its current site emphasises programmable privacy, encrypted transactions and infrastructure for applications and autonomous agents.
SKL secures that system, but it is explicitly not the native gas token used for ordinary transactions. SKALE chains use sFUEL, which the documentation describes as having zero economic value, allowing applications to offer zero-gas transactions.[1], [3]
What SKL does
The documentation calls SKL the utility token of SKALE Network. Holders can delegate it to validators, validators stake it as collateral for Supernodes, and developers use it to pay for network resources through chain subscriptions.
Actively delegated holders can also participate in SKALE DAO governance. These roles connect token holders, infrastructure operators and application teams without making end users pay SKL each time they interact.[2], [4]
Staking timing
The official staking guide places delegation through the SKALE Portal on Ethereum mainnet. A delegation becomes active on the first day of the following month rather than immediately.
The initial lock period is two months, and stake automatically renews unless it is undelegated. Rewards are distributed monthly according to stake weight and validator performance, so choosing and monitoring a validator remains part of the process.[5], [6]
The token standard and networks
SKL's original Ethereum deployment is described as an ERC-777 hybrid token. The documentation publishes the Ethereum mainnet contract and separate bridged deployments on the Europa, Nebula and Calypso SKALE chains.
That multi-network presence makes the ticker alone insufficient for a deposit. A wallet can display SKL while still being connected to a network the recipient does not support.[7], [2]
How allocations were designed
SKALE's tokenomics page assigns 33% to validator rewards and 28.1% to delegation allocation. It also lists 16% for the broader founding team, 10% for the foundation, 7.7% for a protocol development fund, 4% for the core team pool and 1.3% for an ecosystem fund.
These are allocation percentages published by SKALE. They should not be read as a live measure of unlocked or circulating balances.[8], [6]
The present direction
Current SKALE messaging focuses on programmable privacy and an Internet of Agents. That differs from older descriptions centred mainly on elastic sidechains, showing how the project's presentation has evolved.
The durable part of the design is the division of labour: SKL pays for and secures network capacity, while sFUEL supports transactions inside application chains.
That separation also changes how different participants encounter the network. A validator or delegator deals with SKL, lock periods and performance-based rewards. An application team obtains chain capacity and decides how its users receive sFUEL. An end user can interact without treating every click as a token purchase. The result is not a network without costs; rather, costs are moved into resource subscriptions and infrastructure incentives instead of being charged as an economically valuable gas asset on each transaction. Current privacy messaging adds another application layer without changing that basic economic split. When comparing older and newer descriptions, focus on the official documentation for token mechanics and use the current site for the latest product direction. This avoids treating a historical whitepaper phrase as a promise about today's interfaces.[1], [3]
What remains unknown
The current exact circulating supply and the numeric maximum supply did not render in the official pages checked. Those figures are UNKNOWN here rather than copied from a market tracker.
What this means when you hold or move SKL
SKL staking takes place on Ethereum mainnet according to the official guide, while bridged SKL also exists on several SKALE chains. Confirm the exact network and contract expected by the destination before moving tokens.

Fees and pricing
Zero added fees: SwapRocket does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.
SwapRocket does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. SwapRocket may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.
Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by SwapRocket. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
SKL swap FAQ
How do I swap SKALE (SKL) instantly on SwapRocket?
Pick SKL as the asset you want to receive, choose what you're paying with, paste your wallet address, and confirm. SwapRocket hands your order to the provider whose quote pays out the most at that moment, and most swaps complete in under 10 minutes — no SwapRocket account needed.
Can I swap SKL with no KYC?
No SwapRocket account or identity documents are needed to start a crypto-to-crypto swap of SKL. The provider that executes the swap may still request identity verification or hold a swap for review under its own AML and sanctions policy, regardless of amount. Selling to a bank account goes through a regulated payment partner that verifies the payer; card purchases on SwapRocket are coming soon.
Is swapping SKALE on SwapRocket non-custodial?
Yes. SwapRocket never holds your funds. The provider that executes the swap receives your deposit, holds it only for the duration of the swap, and sends SKL to the wallet address you provide.
Which network does SKL use here?
SwapRocket supports SKALE on the ETH network. Always double-check that your receiving wallet supports this network before confirming.
What fees apply when I swap SKL?
SwapRocket adds no fee or markup to the provider's quote and may earn a commission from the provider on a completed swap. The provider's spread and any network cost it deducts on delivery are already reflected in the SKL amount shown; the network fee your own wallet charges to send the deposit is separate. Spreads vary by provider, pair and size, so compare the quoted receive amount.
