About Sei (SEI)
Layer-1 blockchain
Sei (SEI) is a Layer-1 blockchain — a base network with its own consensus, validators, and native coin (SEI) used to pay fees and secure the chain. Developers build applications directly on it, and SEI is the asset that powers the whole ecosystem.
How does Sei work?
The Sei network is maintained by a distributed set of participants who validate transactions and add them to the blockchain. SEI is required to pay for transactions and, on many networks, to stake and help secure the chain in exchange for rewards.
What is SEI used for?
SEI pays network fees, can often be staked for yield, and serves as the core unit of value across apps built on Sei. Demand for SEI tends to track activity and adoption on the network itself.

How a SEI swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send SEI to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for SEI
Three offers are presented for every SEI exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for SEI
Sei settles on Sei. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Sei keeps full compatibility with Ethereum tools while trying to remove the EVM's usual speed limits. How do parallel execution, a tuned consensus pipeline and a unified account system work together, and where is the design heading next?
The Ethereum Virtual Machine is the most widely used smart-contract environment, but the classic design processes transactions one after another. That keeps things simple and makes throughput hard to raise. Sei's answer is to keep the EVM's developer experience, including Solidity, standard token formats and common libraries, while running transactions in parallel and shortening the time it takes blocks to become final. SEI is the coin that pays for gas and secures the network through staking. This profile explains the design using Sei's own documentation and code.
A parallelized EVM
Sei's documentation describes it as a parallelized EVM blockchain. Its execution engine runs transactions optimistically across multiple cores, so transactions that do not touch the same state can be processed at the same time instead of strictly one by one.
For developers, the key point is that this happens underneath a standard EVM. The EVM section of the docs covers deploying Solidity contracts and using common Ethereum libraries and token standards, and lists the networks and connection details builders need.[1], [2], [3]
Twin Turbo: tuning consensus rather than replacing it
Sei's Twin Turbo Consensus is presented as a set of optimisations on top of a proven Byzantine fault tolerant engine, not a brand-new algorithm. The documentation explains how block proposal and processing are pipelined so the network can reach finality quickly.
The same page covers what finality means for Solidity developers, which matters because applications often depend on knowing when a transaction can no longer change.[4]
One account, two address formats
Sei supports both EVM addresses that start with 0x and native addresses that start with sei1. Its unified account system links the two for the same key, and the accounts documentation explains how association works and what to check for security.
The wallets page describes how users connect to Sei with either style of wallet. This dual model lets Sei serve both Ethereum-style apps and its native tooling on one chain.[5], [6]
Staking and governance with SEI
SEI holders help secure the network by staking with validators. The staking documentation explains delegation, rewards, slashing risks and the unbonding process that applies when stake is withdrawn.
Network changes go through on-chain proposals and voting, described in Sei's governance documentation. The Sei Giga specification confirms that SEI remains the native asset for gas, fees and staking under the planned architecture.[7], [8], [10]
Open code and a published roadmap
The sei-chain repository holds the node software, and its releases page records each version that validators run. Node operators have their own section of the documentation covering how to run and maintain a node.
Sei also publishes its next design in detail. The Sei Giga pages describe Autobahn consensus, in which each validator has its own lane of data, and lay out an implementation snapshot tied to the Sei v6.6 activation planned for August 2026.[12], [13], [11], [9], [10]
Moving a live network to a new consensus design
The Sei Giga specification describes Autobahn consensus and asynchronous execution as forward-looking and subject to change until the matching upgrades activate on the network. How the move from today's consensus to the per-validator-lane design will be carried out on a live chain, and how finality will behave during the transition, is not yet settled in public documentation.
The final shape and timing of that change are UNKNOWN and are not predicted here.[10]
What this means when you hold or move SEI
SEI can be held at an EVM address starting with 0x or a native address starting with sei1. Before sending, check which address type the receiving wallet or service expects and that the network in your quote is Sei mainnet.
Staked SEI is subject to an unbonding period before it can be moved again. A swap provider sets its own confirmation policy before releasing the destination coin. Keep the transaction ID until the order completes, and back up your recovery phrase, because it is the only way to restore a wallet.

Fees and pricing
Zero added fees: SwapRocket does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.
SwapRocket does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. SwapRocket may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.
Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by SwapRocket. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
SEI swap FAQ
How do I swap Sei (SEI) instantly on SwapRocket?
Pick SEI as the asset you want to receive, choose what you're paying with, paste your wallet address, and confirm. SwapRocket hands your order to the provider whose quote pays out the most at that moment, and most swaps complete in under 10 minutes — no SwapRocket account needed.
Can I swap SEI with no KYC?
No SwapRocket account or identity documents are needed to start a crypto-to-crypto swap of SEI. The provider that executes the swap may still request identity verification or hold a swap for review under its own AML and sanctions policy, regardless of amount. Selling to a bank account goes through a regulated payment partner that verifies the payer; card purchases on SwapRocket are coming soon.
Is swapping Sei on SwapRocket non-custodial?
Yes. SwapRocket never holds your funds. The provider that executes the swap receives your deposit, holds it only for the duration of the swap, and sends SEI to the wallet address you provide.
Which network does SEI use here?
SwapRocket supports Sei on the Sei network. Always double-check that your receiving wallet supports this network before confirming.
What fees apply when I swap SEI?
SwapRocket adds no fee or markup to the provider's quote and may earn a commission from the provider on a completed swap. The provider's spread and any network cost it deducts on delivery are already reflected in the SEI amount shown; the network fee your own wallet charges to send the deposit is separate. Spreads vary by provider, pair and size, so compare the quoted receive amount.
