About Re (RE)

Crypto token

Re (RE) is a crypto token on the ETH network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.

How does RE work?

Re runs as a token on the ETH network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.

What is RE used for?

Holders use RE to participate in the Re ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a RE swap works

Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send RE to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.

Choosing a rate for RE

Three offers are presented for every RE exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.

Networks and addresses for RE

Re settles on ETH. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

When a storm flattens a town or a fleet of trucks crashes, insurers pay out. But who pays the insurers when the bill is too big for them? The answer is reinsurance — an old, huge and mostly invisible market. Re is trying to put a slice of it onchain, so ordinary crypto holders can take part. How does that work, and where does the yield actually come from?

Re calls itself the internet capital market for insurance risk. It offers onchain access to regulated reinsurance, with yield paid from real insurance premiums rather than token rewards. Its products include reUSD and reUSDe. This profile uses Re's official website.

Insurance for insurance companies

Re starts with a plain explanation. Reinsurance is insurance for insurance companies: insurers pass portions of their risk to reinsurers, large pools of capital absorb the losses, and the system survives shocks without breaking.

Re's pitch is that this is one of the world's largest, oldest and least digitised financial markets. It puts the global reinsurance market at more than $800 billion and says it has low correlation to traditional assets — it does not simply rise and fall with stocks.

Its thesis is almost philosophical: the world breaks in cycles, the next shock is guaranteed, and the only question is who absorbs it.[1], [2]

What Re actually offers

Re says it provides onchain access to regulated reinsurance, using real reinsurance treaties with verifiable premiums. Capital is deployed fully collateralised, with defined risk limits and underwriting discipline.

The yield in reUSD, Re says, comes from real insurance premiums — the price people and businesses pay so that accidents do not stop the world. It contrasts this with yield that depends on a story: premiums exist because coverage is needed.

The site lists three pillars: real-economy cashflows, verifiable solvency that can be checked onchain through attestations, audits and custody architecture, and underwriting discipline — including what it refuses to write and a catastrophe-light posture.[3], [4], [5]

Inside the portfolio

At the time of reading, Re showed total value locked of $712.26 million and total deposits of $318.79 million.

It described a $512.3 million low-volatility, diversified insurance portfolio. The largest slice was small-business commercial cover at 44%, followed by commercial auto at 26%, homeowners at 17%, workers' compensation at 12% and personal auto at 1%.

Every line was labelled low volatility. That mix of everyday business and household cover, rather than catastrophe bets, is central to how Re presents itself.[6], [7]

Where RE fits

The site's navigation includes reUSD, reUSDe, points, metrics, a MiCA whitepaper and claims pages, and it is published under the Resilience Foundation.

The documentation draws a sharp line between the products and the RE token. reUSD and reUSDe represent positions in insurance portfolios; RE is the governance token for the policy layer. Staked RE can be used to vote, propose changes, delegate, serve on committees and perform attestations.

That policy layer can govern upgrades, permissions, reporting standards, staking parameters and incentive policy. It does not underwrite insurance, settle claims or set policy prices. Those jobs remain with licensed and regulated businesses, so token voting cannot simply overrule the insurance operation.

Governance participation requires staking and can involve lockups, cooldowns and slashing for defined misconduct. Re also states that participation is subject to identity checks and jurisdiction restrictions, and that rewards compensate active governance work rather than offer passive yield.

That separation is easy to miss but central to the design. Buying RE is not the same as depositing into an insurance-backed product, and staking it is not a claim on every premium Re collects. The token is for supervising defined parts of the protocol while the regulated insurance entities retain their legal responsibilities.[8], [9], [10]

Token role and live figures

Re states a total supply of one billion RE, but the live amount staked and future governance reward rate change over time. Value-locked and portfolio figures also move; the ones quoted here are as read on the verification date.[6], [8]

What this means when you hold or move RE

RE is a different asset from reUSD and reUSDe. Make sure you are swapping the ticker you intend.

Confirm which network your receiving wallet expects before you send, and keep your transaction ID until delivery is confirmed.

RE swap FAQ

How do I swap Re (RE) instantly on SwapRocket?

Pick RE as the asset you want to receive, choose what you're paying with, paste your wallet address, and confirm. SwapRocket hands your order to the provider whose quote pays out the most at that moment, and most swaps complete in under 10 minutes — no SwapRocket account needed.

Can I swap RE with no KYC?

No SwapRocket account or identity documents are needed to start a crypto-to-crypto swap of RE. The provider that executes the swap may still request identity verification or hold a swap for review under its own AML and sanctions policy, regardless of amount. Is swapping Re on SwapRocket non-custodial?

Yes. SwapRocket never holds your funds. The provider that executes the swap receives your deposit, holds it only for the duration of the swap, and sends RE to the wallet address you provide.

Which network does RE use here?

SwapRocket supports Re on the ETH network. Always double-check that your receiving wallet supports this network before confirming.

What fees apply when I swap RE?

SwapRocket adds no fee or markup to the provider's quote and may earn a commission from the provider on a completed swap. The provider's spread and any network cost it deducts on delivery are already reflected in the RE amount shown; the network fee your own wallet charges to send the deposit is separate. Spreads vary by provider, pair and size, so compare the quoted receive amount.
