About Pendle (PENDLE)
Crypto token
Pendle (PENDLE) is a crypto token on the ERC20 network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.
How does PENDLE work?
Pendle runs as a token on the ERC20 network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.
What is PENDLE used for?
Holders use PENDLE to participate in the Pendle ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a PENDLE swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send PENDLE to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for PENDLE
Three offers are presented for every PENDLE exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for PENDLE
Pendle settles on ERC20. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Pendle turns the yield on crypto assets into something you can trade on its own — fixing it, betting on it or hedging it. How does splitting a token into principal and yield work, and what part does PENDLE play?
Pendle is a permissionless yield-trading protocol that wraps yield-bearing tokens, splits them into principal tokens (PT) and yield tokens (YT), and lets both be traded on its own AMM. PENDLE is the protocol's token, paid out as liquidity incentives. This profile is built from Pendle's site and documentation.
What Pendle says it is
Pendle's homepage calls it "the world's largest crypto yield trading platform" and presents two products. Pendle V2 is the spot market: trade yield, earn a fixed yield, or take a leveraged long position on yield with, in the site's words, no lockups and no liquidation risk. Boros is a newer margin product for trading yields — including off-chain rates such as funding rates — with leverage.
The documentation opens with a simple question: how much will you earn from lending 1,000 USDC? The honest answer is that you cannot know, because yields move with markets. Pendle's stated purpose is to give users "the reins to their yield": to increase exposure to yield when they expect it to rise and to hedge when they expect it to fall. It describes itself as a second-order derivative layer built on top of existing yield sources — liquid staking tokens, liquid restaking tokens, stablecoins, tokenised real-world assets and more.[1], [2], [3], [4]
How it works
Pendle's mechanism has two parts. First comes yield tokenisation. A yield-bearing token — the docs use Lido's stETH as the example — is wrapped into a standardised yield token (SY), such as SY-stETH, so that it works with Pendle's contracts. SY is then split into two pieces: a principal token (PT), representing the underlying asset, and a yield token (YT), representing the yield it will earn.
Every PT and YT has a maturity date. After maturity, PT can be redeemed for the full underlying token; YT collects the yield only up to maturity and is worth nothing afterwards. If a user does nothing after maturity, the FAQ says nothing is lost — PT stays redeemable one-for-one — but the capital stops earning.
The second part is the Pendle AMM, where PT and YT trade. Buying PT at a discount and holding it to maturity locks in a fixed yield; buying YT is a bet that yield will be higher than the market expects. Providing liquidity earns swap fees, PENDLE incentives and any rewards the underlying protocol pays. Anyone can create a market on-chain, though the docs say markets shown in the official interface go through a review process.[5], [6], [7], [8], [9]
What PENDLE is used for
The documentation reviewed names one concrete use for PENDLE: it is paid as an incentive to liquidity providers, alongside swap fees and underlying protocol rewards. The FAQ adds that providers do not need to stake their LP tokens to receive their share — all LP-token holders receive rewards.
Pendle's wider documentation covers governance and vote-escrow mechanics for the token in its protocol-mechanics section, but the pages reviewed for this profile did not load that material, so those details are not restated here.[10], [11]
Risks and open questions
Pendle is candid about where risk sits. Its FAQ warns that because the protocol interacts with third-party protocols and contracts, there is inherent risk in those systems, and that Pendle is not responsible for funds lost to exploits in third-party contracts. It states the Pendle codebase has been audited and flaws addressed, while still advising users to deploy funds prudently.
The instruments themselves need care. YT loses all value at maturity by design, so it suits users who understand they are buying a stream of yield, not an asset. The underlying APY shown in Pendle's interface is a seven-day average, per the FAQ, so it can differ from the rate displayed by the source protocol.[12], [13], [14]
What the official sources do not say
UNKNOWN from official sources: the pages reviewed did not set out PENDLE's emission schedule, the current rules for vote-escrowed PENDLE, or how fees are shared with token holders.
Nothing here predicts the token's future price or adoption.
What this means when you hold or move PENDLE
PENDLE is issued on Ethereum and is also available on other networks where Pendle operates. Before sending it, confirm which network the receiving wallet or exchange expects and that the contract address matches the one Pendle publishes. Network fees are paid in that chain's native asset, such as ETH on Ethereum.
Keep your transaction hash until delivery so you can trace it on the relevant block explorer.
