About peaq (PEAQ)
Layer-1 blockchain
peaq (PEAQ) is a Layer-1 blockchain — a base network with its own consensus, validators, and native coin (PEAQ) used to pay fees and secure the chain. Developers build applications directly on it, and PEAQ is the asset that powers the whole ecosystem.
How does peaq work?
The peaq network is maintained by a distributed set of participants who validate transactions and add them to the blockchain. PEAQ is required to pay for transactions and, on many networks, to stake and help secure the chain in exchange for rewards.
What is PEAQ used for?
PEAQ pays network fees, can often be staked for yield, and serves as the core unit of value across apps built on peaq. Demand for PEAQ tends to track activity and adoption on the network itself.

How a PEAQ swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send PEAQ to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for PEAQ
Three offers are presented for every PEAQ exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for PEAQ
peaq settles on peaq. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Robots, sensors and delivery drones are doing more real work every year. But a machine can't open a bank account, sign a contract or get paid on its own. peaq is built around a bold idea: that machines could become economic actors in their own right — earning, paying and even being invested in. What does that look like in practice?
peaq describes itself as everything robots and machines need to do business on every chain. It wants to turn machines into a new asset class, with tools to activate, finance and scale them. PEAQ is the network's token. This profile uses peaq's official website.
Machines as a new asset class
peaq's headline claim is that machines are entering the economy, and it wants to turn them into a new asset class. With its stack, it says, machines become autonomous economic actors that can do business, and also liquid, investible assets.
Its main product is peaqOS, framed around three steps. Activate: turn machines into trusted financial assets and actors. Finance: help makers sell more machines by financing them for their clients. Scale: let machines earn, invest and compound their value.
The site also lists machine money markets, machine financing, a machine explorer and a launch guide for builders.[1], [2]
Apps already built on peaq
peaq showcases a range of apps using its stack. SkyX layers cloud weather data for businesses and governments and reports more than 125TB of weather data.
Silencio captures real-world audio from people in more than 180 countries and reports over 1.2 million people providing data. Teneo collects real-time social data through a decentralised physical network and reports over 6 million people setting up nodes. DeNet turns everyday computers and phones into storage providers, also citing over 6 million users and watcher nodes.
XMAQUINA, focused on humanoid robotics, aims to make that industry open and community-owned and cites a DAO treasury of more than $35 million.[3], [4], [5]
The network in numbers
Across its ecosystem, peaq reports more than 6 million robots, machines and humans onboarded, more than 60 apps using its stack, 22 industries being reshaped, and more than 48 million transactions done by machines.
These are the project's own figures, shown on its homepage at the time of reading.[6]
Partners and where it's heading
Recent news on the site includes a partnership with Doosan Robotics on physical AI, aimed at financing robots and monetising their spare capacity.
peaq also says it hosted a challenge at what it calls Europe's largest robotics hackathon, alongside NVIDIA, Universal Robots, NEURA and Doosan. A recent post argues the machine economy needs better token models.
The site is run by the Peaq Foundation, and links to a Purple Paper, docs, an economics page, a MiCA whitepaper and a list of token contracts.[7], [8], [9]
What PEAQ does on the network
The official tokenomics documentation gives PEAQ three direct jobs. It pays transaction fees, it is staked by the participants who produce blocks and can be slashed when they break the rules, and it carries governance rights over the network. That connects the token to the machinery underneath peaqOS rather than to one featured robotics app.
peaq recorded 4.2 billion PEAQ at genesis. Its documentation specifically distinguishes genesis supply from a permanent maximum, an important detail for anyone reading a fixed number on a market page. Future supply therefore depends on the network's published economics rather than on a hard cap assumed here.
The chain also has two forms of the asset. Native PEAQ exists at protocol level, while WPEAQ is an ERC-20-compatible wrapped version. peaq publishes official addresses and warns about impostor tokens, so checking the contract and destination network is part of using it safely.[10], [11], [12]
Token role and supply
The documentation states PEAQ's roles and genesis supply, but it does not describe 4.2 billion as a permanent maximum. The future circulating supply and live staking return are UNKNOWN here rather than inferred.[9]
What this means when you hold or move PEAQ
peaq publishes an official list of token contracts. Check it and confirm which network your receiving wallet expects before you send.
Keep your transaction ID until delivery is confirmed.
