About Ondo (ONDO)
Crypto token
Ondo (ONDO) is a crypto token on the ERC20 network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.
How does ONDO work?
Ondo runs as a token on the ERC20 network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.
What is ONDO used for?
Holders use ONDO to participate in the Ondo ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a ONDO swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send ONDO to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for ONDO
Three offers are presented for every ONDO exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for ONDO
Ondo settles on ERC20. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Ondo brings US Treasuries and similar assets onto public blockchains. How does the ONDO governance token relate to those tokenized products, and why are the products themselves permissioned while ONDO moves freely?
Tokenized real-world assets try to join two worlds. Traditional instruments such as Treasury bills come with investor rules and regulated managers. Blockchains offer open transfer and round-the-clock settlement. Ondo works on both sides: it issues tokenized products backed by short-term Treasuries and bank deposits, and it has a separate governance token, ONDO, that anyone can hold. Understanding the difference between the two is the key to understanding the project. This profile explains it using Ondo's own documentation and announcements.
ONDO is a governance token
Ondo's documentation describes ONDO as the governance token for Ondo DAO and Flux Finance, a lending protocol. Holders use it to take part in decisions about those systems.
The official Ethereum address is 0xfAbA6f8e4a5E8Ab82F62fe7C39859FA577269BE3. The initial supply was 10 billion tokens, and the documentation states there is no scheduled inflation.[1], [2]
Made transferable by vote
ONDO was not freely transferable at first. The documentation records that transfer restrictions were lifted on January 18, 2024, following a vote of the DAO.
That decision shows the governance token doing what it was designed for: holders set the rules for the token itself.[3]
Tokenized Treasuries: OUSG
Separately from ONDO, Ondo issues OUSG, a token that gives eligible investors exposure to US Treasuries. Ondo's April 2023 announcement of a tokenized money market fund product noted that OUSG was already live by then.
Ondo's official address page lists OUSG on Ethereum and Polygon, with further network support. OUSG transfers are permissioned: only approved holders can receive it.[4], [5]
A yield-bearing dollar note: USDY
In August 2023 Ondo announced USDY, a tokenized note secured by short-term US Treasuries and bank demand deposits. It was designed as a way to hold a dollar-denominated, yield-bearing asset on a blockchain.
Ondo's product documentation describes OUSG, USDY and its newer tokenized stock products side by side, making the family of products clear.[6], [7]
Two kinds of token, two sets of rules
The products hold real-world assets and follow investor rules, so they are permissioned. ONDO, by contrast, is a governance token with no claim on those assets and moves freely on Ethereum.
Keeping these apart avoids a common confusion: holding ONDO is not the same as holding a share of Ondo's Treasury products.[1], [5]
Governance with a fixed supply
Because ONDO has no scheduled inflation, holders do not see their share of the supply diluted by automatic new issuance. The documentation sets the initial supply at 10 billion tokens, and changes to how the token works go through the DAO.
This makes ONDO a fairly simple governance asset. Its purpose is to let holders take part in decisions about Ondo DAO and Flux Finance, while the Treasury-backed products carry their own separate rules for eligible investors.
The contract address and supply details sit together on one official page, which makes them easy to check before buying or sending ONDO.[2], [1]
How product prices reach the chain
Tokenized funds need their net asset value brought on-chain by some kind of price feed. The documentation reviewed does not describe in detail how that data is sourced and checked before on-chain contracts use it.
The exact process is UNKNOWN from public sources and is not guessed at here.[7]
What this means when you hold or move ONDO
SwapRocket lists ONDO on Ethereum (ERC-20). Send it only to an Ethereum address from a wallet or service that supports ERC-20 tokens, keep a little ETH for network fees, and confirm the contract address in Ondo's documentation.
OUSG and USDY are separate products with their own eligibility rules and are not what you receive when you swap for ONDO. Keep the transaction ID until the order completes, and back up your recovery phrase.
