About Mantle (MNT)

Crypto token

Mantle (MNT) is a crypto token on the ERC20 network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.

How does MNT work?

Mantle runs as a token on the ERC20 network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.

What is MNT used for?

Holders use MNT to participate in the Mantle ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a MNT swap works

Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send MNT to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.

Choosing a rate for MNT

Three offers are presented for every MNT exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.

Networks and addresses for MNT

Mantle settles on ERC20. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Mantle is an Ethereum layer-2 network that separates execution, data availability, proof generation and settlement into independent parts. What does that modular design change for users and builders, and how does MNT work as both gas and governance token?

Ethereum layer-2 networks all try to make transactions cheaper while leaning on Ethereum for security. The main differences are in how they publish transaction data, how they prove the results are correct, and who decides how the network evolves. Mantle's approach is modular: each of those jobs is handled by a separate component that can be improved on its own. The documentation says Mantle now uses zero-knowledge validity proofs together with its data availability approach. MNT pays for gas on the network and carries voting weight in Mantle Governance. This profile explains the design from Mantle's own documentation and code.

A rollup built from separable modules

Mantle describes itself as an EVM-compatible scaling network. Its overview explains that it separates execution, data availability, proof generation and settlement into independent modules, so each can be upgraded or replaced without redesigning the whole system.

Because the network is EVM compatible, Solidity contracts and standard Ethereum wallets and tools work with it. Transactions, addresses and contracts can be checked on the official Mantle explorer.[1], [2], [9]

Validity proofs and cheaper data

According to the overview, Mantle now uses zero-knowledge validity proofs alongside its data availability solutions. Validity proofs let Ethereum check that a batch of layer-2 transactions was processed correctly, rather than waiting for someone to challenge it.

Separating data availability from execution is how Mantle aims to lower costs: transaction data needed to reconstruct the chain is published through a dedicated module, while settlement remains anchored to Ethereum.[1]

The components that run the chain

Mantle's node documentation lists the off-chain roles that keep the network running. A sequencer orders transactions and produces layer-2 blocks, other nodes validate data and state, a batcher posts transaction data to Ethereum, and a proposer submits commitments to the chain's state on Ethereum.

The node software is published in the mantlenetworkio/mantle repository, so operators and researchers can see how each component is built.[3], [10]

MNT: gas token and governance token

Mantle's tokenomics page gives MNT two roles. As a utility token it pays gas fees on Mantle Network and is a principal asset in Mantle Rewards Station. As a governance token it carries voting weight in Mantle Governance.

The same page traces MNT's initial distribution to genesis governance proposals, reflecting Mantle's origins in the BitDAO community, and publishes the official token addresses. Mantle's own MNT page summarises the token for users.[4], [7]

Governance that starts in the open

Mantle Governance is mostly off-chain. Proposals are discussed on the community forum, formalised as Mantle Improvement Proposals, and voted on in the Snapshot space at snapshot.org/#/bitdao.eth.

The governance documentation explains that results do not execute automatically: approved proposals are carried out by core contributors. This keeps the process transparent and easy to follow, with each proposal and vote on public record.[5], [6], [8]

From off-chain votes to on-chain enforcement

Today, Mantle's governance votes happen on Snapshot and approved proposals are implemented by core contributors. The public documentation does not set out whether, or how, future proposal outcomes will be enforced directly on-chain.

Any such change is UNKNOWN from current sources and is not predicted here.[6]

What this means when you hold or move MNT

MNT exists both as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum and as the gas token on Mantle Network, and both use 0x addresses. The same-looking address on the wrong network can mean a lost or delayed transfer, so check that the network in your quote matches what the receiving wallet or service supports, and confirm token addresses on Mantle's official tokenomics page.

SwapRocket lists MNT on its Ethereum (ERC-20) network, so the sending wallet needs a little ETH for network fees. A swap provider sets its own confirmation policy before releasing the destination coin. Keep the transaction ID until the order completes, and back up your recovery phrase.

Fees and pricing

Zero added fees: SwapRocket does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.

SwapRocket does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. SwapRocket may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.

Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by SwapRocket. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.

MNT swap FAQ

How do I swap Mantle (MNT) instantly on SwapRocket?

Pick MNT as the asset you want to receive, choose what you're paying with, paste your wallet address, and confirm. SwapRocket hands your order to the provider whose quote pays out the most at that moment, and most swaps complete in under 10 minutes — no SwapRocket account needed.

Can I swap MNT with no KYC?

No SwapRocket account or identity documents are needed to start a crypto-to-crypto swap of MNT. The provider that executes the swap may still request identity verification or hold a swap for review under its own AML and sanctions policy, regardless of amount. Selling to a bank account goes through a regulated payment partner that verifies the payer; card purchases on SwapRocket are coming soon.

Is swapping Mantle on SwapRocket non-custodial?

Yes. SwapRocket never holds your funds. The provider that executes the swap receives your deposit, holds it only for the duration of the swap, and sends MNT to the wallet address you provide.

Which network does MNT use here?

SwapRocket supports Mantle on the ERC20 network. Always double-check that your receiving wallet supports this network before confirming.

What fees apply when I swap MNT?

SwapRocket adds no fee or markup to the provider's quote and may earn a commission from the provider on a completed swap. The provider's spread and any network cost it deducts on delivery are already reflected in the MNT amount shown; the network fee your own wallet charges to send the deposit is separate. Spreads vary by provider, pair and size, so compare the quoted receive amount.
