About Lido DAO (LDO)
Crypto token
Lido DAO (LDO) is a crypto token on the ERC20 network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.
How does LDO work?
Lido DAO runs as a token on the ERC20 network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.
What is LDO used for?
Holders use LDO to participate in the Lido DAO ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a LDO swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send LDO to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for LDO
Three offers are presented for every LDO exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for LDO
Lido DAO settles on ERC20. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Lido lets people stake ETH without running a validator or locking up liquidity. How does that work, and what does the LDO token actually control?
Lido is a liquid staking protocol whose stETH token represents staked Ether, governed by the Lido DAO through the LDO token. This profile is built from Lido's own site and documentation, with everything else marked unverified.
What Lido says it is
Lido's documentation introduces the protocol as a liquid staking system: users stake ETH through the protocol and receive stETH, a token representing their staked position that remains usable across decentralised finance while the underlying ETH earns staking rewards. The site lists an ecosystem of integrations — wallets, exchanges, lending markets and liquidity pools — where stETH can be used.
The site emphasises three properties: the protocol is non-custodial, meaning its design ensures no one can access or control stakers' funds; it is governed by the Lido DAO; and key decisions require public votes by LDO token holders.[1], [2], [3], [4]
How it works
Under the hood, the protocol routes staked ETH to a set of node operators who run the actual validators. The site describes multiple staking modules — including a Community Staking Module and a Curated Module — and notes that because of the permissionless nature of one module, the number of node operator entries does not represent unique operators. The documentation covers the deployed contracts, multisigs, audits and a public risk disclosure.
Governance runs through the Lido DAO: the site lists a research forum, off-chain votes, on-chain votes and LEGO grants, plus a decentralisation scorecard tracking how the protocol performs on resilience measures. The documentation also covers Lido Improvement Proposals, the process by which changes to the protocol are proposed and decided.
For builders, the documentation provides an integration guide, an stVaults SDK and references to the smart contracts, and the site points node operators to a dedicated portal with protocol stats and metrics. This breadth of documentation reflects the protocol's position as infrastructure that many other applications build on.[5], [6], [7], [8]
What LDO is used for
LDO is the governance token of the Lido DAO. The site states that key decisions require public votes by LDO token holders, and the documentation describes the Lido tokens and governance stack. LDO does not entitle holders to staking rewards — those flow to stETH holders — so its role is control over the protocol's direction rather than a claim on its cash flows.
That distinction matters: holding LDO is a position on the value of governing the largest liquid staking protocol, not on staking yield directly.[4], [9]
Risks and open questions
Lido's own site carries a public risk disclosure and explicit caveats: APR figures are estimates, not guaranteed, rewards fluctuate with network conditions and validator performance, and past performance does not guarantee future results. Staking through any protocol adds smart-contract and operator risk on top of the underlying network's risks.
Lido's scale is itself a debated topic in the Ethereum community: a single staking protocol controlling a large share of staked ETH raises questions about network-level concentration, which the protocol's decentralisation scorecard is designed to address but not eliminate.
What the official sources do not say
UNKNOWN from official sources: the current precise share of all staked ETH running through Lido at the time of reading, the distribution of LDO voting power across holders, and the outcome of ongoing governance debates.
It is not predicted here.
What this means when you hold or move LDO
LDO is an ERC-20 token on Ethereum, so moving it requires ETH for gas. Do not confuse LDO with stETH: they are different tokens with different purposes, and sending one where the other is expected can strand funds.
Keep your transaction ID until delivery so you can trace it on an Ethereum explorer.

Fees and pricing
Zero added fees: SwapRocket does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.
SwapRocket does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. SwapRocket may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.
Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by SwapRocket. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
LDO swap FAQ
How do I swap Lido DAO (LDO) instantly on SwapRocket?
Pick LDO as the asset you want to receive, choose what you're paying with, paste your wallet address, and confirm. SwapRocket hands your order to the provider whose quote pays out the most at that moment, and most swaps complete in under 10 minutes — no SwapRocket account needed.
Can I swap LDO with no KYC?
No SwapRocket account or identity documents are needed to start a crypto-to-crypto swap of LDO. The provider that executes the swap may still request identity verification or hold a swap for review under its own AML and sanctions policy, regardless of amount. Selling to a bank account goes through a regulated payment partner that verifies the payer; card purchases on SwapRocket are coming soon.
Is swapping Lido DAO on SwapRocket non-custodial?
Yes. SwapRocket never holds your funds. The provider that executes the swap receives your deposit, holds it only for the duration of the swap, and sends LDO to the wallet address you provide.
Which network does LDO use here?
SwapRocket supports Lido DAO on the ERC20 network. Always double-check that your receiving wallet supports this network before confirming.
What fees apply when I swap LDO?
SwapRocket adds no fee or markup to the provider's quote and may earn a commission from the provider on a completed swap. The provider's spread and any network cost it deducts on delivery are already reflected in the LDO amount shown; the network fee your own wallet charges to send the deposit is separate. Spreads vary by provider, pair and size, so compare the quoted receive amount.
