About EURC (EURC)

Crypto token

EURC (EURC) is a crypto token on the ERC20 network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.

How does EURC work?

EURC runs as a token on the ERC20 network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.

What is EURC used for?

Holders use EURC to participate in the EURC ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a EURC swap works

Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send EURC to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.

Choosing a rate for EURC

Three offers are presented for every EURC exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.

Networks and addresses for EURC

EURC settles on ERC20. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Almost all on-chain money is denominated in US dollars. What does a fully reserved, regulated euro on public blockchains make possible, and how does EURC keep its value tied to the euro?

EURC is a euro-backed stablecoin issued by Circle, the company behind USDC. Each token is designed to be redeemable one-for-one for euro, with reserves held at regulated financial institutions in the European Economic Area. This profile explains how it works using Circle's official EURC page.

A digital euro from a regulated issuer

Circle describes EURC as a fully backed euro stablecoin: each token is redeemable one-for-one for euro and the coin is compliant with MiCA, the European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets regulation. Like USDC, it is issued by Circle under a full-reserve model.

That regulatory framing matters in Europe. MiCA sets rules for who may issue stablecoins and how reserves must be held, so a MiCA-compliant euro token gives businesses and users a clearer legal footing than an unregulated alternative.[1], [2], [3]

How the reserves are held

Circle states that EURC is backed one hundred per cent by euro, with reserves held transparently at regulated financial institutions in the EEA. It publishes monthly attestations of those reserves, so holders can check that the euro behind the tokens exists.

Businesses that are Circle Mint customers can convert euro into EURC and redeem EURC back into euro. That mint-and-redeem loop is what keeps the token close to one euro: if it drifts, approved participants have an incentive to create or redeem tokens until the gap closes.[4], [5], [6]

One token, many chains

Circle's page lists EURC on several public blockchains, including Ethereum, Avalanche, Base, Solana and Stellar, with additional networks listed in its contract directory. On EVM networks it follows the ERC-20 standard, and on Solana it is an SPL token.

Circle Mint also lets businesses move EURC between supported blockchains, which helps liquidity follow users rather than being stranded on one network.[7], [8], [9]

What people use it for

Circle describes EURC as the leading euro stablecoin for crypto capital markets and says it is commonly used in decentralised finance for foreign-exchange trading, borrowing and lending. Paired with USDC, it enables euro-dollar exchange markets that run around the clock and settle on-chain.

For businesses, Circle presents EURC as a way to offer euro-denominated payments and financial services to more people in more places, without relying on banking hours or regional payment rails.[10], [11], [12]

Built for developers and businesses

Circle describes the EURC smart contract as developer friendly, following the same widely supported token standards used across each network, so wallets, exchanges and applications that already handle USDC can add EURC with little extra work. Circle's page groups each supported network with its token standard and official contract addresses for mainnet and test networks, which helps developers integrate the right token and helps users verify they hold the genuine one.

For businesses already using Circle's services, EURC sits alongside USDC in the same platform. Circle Mint customers can swap between EURC and USDC near instantly, giving them a route between euro and dollar liquidity on-chain without leaving the regulated issuer's infrastructure. That pairing is what makes round-the-clock euro-dollar settlement practical for companies that operate across both currency zones.[8], [6], [11]

How big can on-chain euros get

Dollar stablecoins still dominate on-chain activity. How much demand for euro-denominated tokens grows as European regulation matures is UNKNOWN from official sources.

It is not predicted here.[2]

What this means when you hold or move EURC

EURC exists on several blockchains, and each version lives at a different contract address. Confirm which network your receiving wallet expects and make sure it matches the network in your quote exactly, since tokens sent on the wrong network can be difficult to recover.

Direct redemption of EURC for euro is available to Circle Mint business customers rather than through a swap. Keep your transaction ID until delivery so you can trace the transfer on the relevant block explorer, and check Circle's official contract list if you want to verify a token address.
