About edgeX (EDGE)
Crypto token
edgeX (EDGE) is a crypto token on the ERC20 network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.
How does EDGE work?
edgeX runs as a token on the ERC20 network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.
What is EDGE used for?
Holders use EDGE to participate in the edgeX ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a EDGE swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send EDGE to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for EDGE
Three offers are presented for every EDGE exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for EDGE
edgeX settles on ERC20. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Professional traders expect the speed of a centralised exchange, while crypto users increasingly want to keep their own keys. Can one venue deliver both, and what role does the EDGE token play in it?
edgeX is a decentralised trading platform for perpetual futures and spot markets that aims to combine self-custody with the execution quality traders associate with large centralised venues. EDGE is the native asset and governance token of its ecosystem. This profile explains how the platform is built, using edgeX's official website and documentation.
A trading venue that does not hold your keys
edgeX describes itself as a decentralised exchange for perpetual futures across crypto, commodities and stocks, alongside spot markets. The central promise on its official site is self-custody: by leaning on the security of Ethereum mainnet, only users themselves can access their assets using their private keys.
That design addresses one of the oldest problems in crypto trading. On a custodial exchange, deposits become a claim on the operator. On edgeX, the platform matches orders but the underlying assets remain controlled by the user's keys, which changes where the trust sits.[1], [2]
How the first version kept custody with users
edgeX's documentation explains that its first version built trading and settlement on StarkEx, the zero-knowledge rollup technology developed by StarkWare. Trades are aggregated off-chain and then verified on Ethereum with zero-knowledge proofs, which reduces load on the main chain while keeping the final state verifiable.
The practical effect is a venue that can process a high volume of orders cheaply while still anchoring balances to Ethereum. The documentation presents this as the foundation that allowed a derivatives exchange to operate without taking custody of deposits.[3], [4]
Speed as a design goal
Execution quality is the other half of edgeX's pitch. Its official site states order latency under 100 milliseconds and describes a matching engine rewritten for lower latency and higher capacity, capable of very high peak order throughput. It also highlights deep liquidity close to the quoted price.
The newer EDGE Stack takes this further. The documentation describes an app-specific execution layer with a modular multi-VM architecture and deterministic parallel transaction execution, designed so that high-frequency and quantitative trading can happen on-chain with fully verifiable order matching rather than through a single sequential state machine.[5], [6], [7]
Fair prices for liquidations
In leveraged trading, the price used to trigger liquidations matters as much as the order book. edgeX's documentation states that its oracle price is sourced from the independent provider Stork and is used to calculate margin requirements and liquidation prices.
The documentation frames decentralised oracle pricing as protection against sudden abnormal price spikes on individual venues, which can otherwise trigger stop-losses and forced liquidations unexpectedly. Using an independent reference price is intended to make the liquidation process harder to manipulate.[8]
Where EDGE fits
edgeX's token page describes EDGE as the native cryptocurrency and governance asset of the ecosystem, with functions intended to evolve as the protocol matures. In governance, holders vote on edgeX Improvement Proposals, which may cover fee structure, new asset listings, compatibility upgrades and security enhancements.
EDGE can also be staked through a delegated validator system: holders delegate to validators who validate transactions and maintain the integrity of the order book, and in return earn a share of protocol rewards. The token is additionally intended to fund ecosystem incentives such as developer grants, early adopter programmes and liquidity rewards. The documentation lists a fixed total supply split between early users, liquidity, the ecosystem, the foundation, a future reserve and core contributors.[9], [10], [11], [12], [13]
Roles still taking shape
edgeX states that EDGE's functions are designed to evolve, and its move to the EDGE Stack is described as ongoing work on its roadmap. Exactly how staking rewards and governance will operate once that transition is complete is UNKNOWN from the current official documentation.
What this means when you hold or move EDGE
SwapRocket lists EDGE as an ERC-20 token on Ethereum. Send it only to an Ethereum-compatible wallet address and make sure the network shown in your quote matches the network your receiving wallet expects before you confirm.
Governance voting, delegation to validators and trading on the edgeX venue itself happen through edgeX's own app and interfaces, and taking part in any of them is optional for a holder. Keep your transaction ID until delivery so you can trace the transfer on an Ethereum block explorer if needed.

Fees and pricing
Zero added fees: SwapRocket does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.
SwapRocket does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. SwapRocket may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.
Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by SwapRocket. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
EDGE swap FAQ
How do I swap edgeX (EDGE) instantly on SwapRocket?
Pick EDGE as the asset you want to receive, choose what you're paying with, paste your wallet address, and confirm. SwapRocket hands your order to the provider whose quote pays out the most at that moment, and most swaps complete in under 10 minutes — no SwapRocket account needed.
Can I swap EDGE with no KYC?
No SwapRocket account or identity documents are needed to start a crypto-to-crypto swap of EDGE. The provider that executes the swap may still request identity verification or hold a swap for review under its own AML and sanctions policy, regardless of amount. Selling to a bank account goes through a regulated payment partner that verifies the payer; card purchases on SwapRocket are coming soon.
Is swapping edgeX on SwapRocket non-custodial?
Yes. SwapRocket never holds your funds. The provider that executes the swap receives your deposit, holds it only for the duration of the swap, and sends EDGE to the wallet address you provide.
Which network does EDGE use here?
SwapRocket supports edgeX on the ERC20 network. Always double-check that your receiving wallet supports this network before confirming.
What fees apply when I swap EDGE?
SwapRocket adds no fee or markup to the provider's quote and may earn a commission from the provider on a completed swap. The provider's spread and any network cost it deducts on delivery are already reflected in the EDGE amount shown; the network fee your own wallet charges to send the deposit is separate. Spreads vary by provider, pair and size, so compare the quoted receive amount.
