About Curve DAO Token (CRV)
Crypto token
Curve DAO Token (CRV) is a crypto token on the ERC20 network. It powers its project's ecosystem — used for things like access, governance, fees, or rewards — and trades freely against other digital assets.
How does CRV work?
Curve DAO Token runs as a token on the ERC20 network, which means it benefits from that chain's security and tooling while serving the specific role its project defines — for example governance votes, platform fees, staking, or in-app utility.
What is CRV used for?
Holders use CRV to participate in the Curve DAO Token ecosystem and to gain exposure to the project's growth. As with any token, its value is tied to real usage and demand for what the project offers.

How a CRV swap works
Enter the amount you want to exchange, pick the asset on the other side, and SwapRocket queries every connected exchange partner at once. You choose an offer, paste the wallet address that should receive the funds, and send CRV to the deposit address shown. The partner executes the trade and pays out to your address — SwapRocket never holds your coins, and there is no account to create before you start.
Choosing a rate for CRV
Three offers are presented for every CRV exchange. The best rate returns the largest amount for the size you entered. The fastest route favours the partner with the shortest expected settlement time, which matters when the market is moving. The fixed rate locks the quoted amount for the duration of the order, so what you are shown is what arrives, at the cost of a slightly smaller payout. Floating offers can move with the market between deposit and settlement.
Networks and addresses for CRV
Curve DAO Token settles on ERC20. Always send from and to an address on that network: a deposit sent over a different chain cannot be recovered by the exchange partner. When an asset exists on several chains, pick the matching network in the widget before copying the deposit address, and send a small test amount first if you are unsure.

Curve is one of the oldest decentralised exchanges, yet CRV is not a simple exchange token. How do the DEX, the Llamalend lending product and the veCRV locking system fit together?
Curve is a decentralised exchange focused on stable-value trading, with a lending product and a vote-escrowed governance token, CRV. This profile is built from Curve's own documentation hub and marks anything not stated there as unverified.
What Curve says it is
Curve's own documentation hub describes three pillars: a decentralised exchange for swapping and providing liquidity, a borrow-and-lend product called Llamalend, and a governance system built around veCRV — a vote-escrowed form of CRV that carries voting rights.
The exchange is specialised rather than general-purpose: Curve's design centres on pools of assets that are meant to trade near the same value, such as stablecoins, where its pricing formula is built to keep slippage low. CRV is the token emitted by the protocol and locked into veCRV for governance.[1], [2]
How it works
On the exchange side, liquidity providers deposit assets into pools and traders swap against those pools; the protocol charges fees on swaps. Curve's historical innovation is a pricing curve tuned for like-priced assets, which allows large stablecoin trades with comparatively little price impact.
On the governance side, CRV holders can lock their tokens for a period to receive veCRV; the longer the lock, the more voting weight. veCRV is used to vote on protocol decisions and on how CRV emissions are directed between pools. The documentation hub also maintains a developer section covering smart contracts and APIs, and a section for protocols integrating with Curve.
The documentation hub is organised around three audiences — users who swap and provide liquidity, developers who integrate the contracts, and protocols that build on Curve infrastructure — which reflects how the project presents itself: less a single app than a piece of shared liquidity plumbing that other protocols are expected to build on top of.[3], [4], [5]
What CRV is used for
CRV's documented role is governance and incentive alignment: it is distributed to liquidity providers as an incentive and can be locked as veCRV to vote, including on the gauge weights that steer future CRV emissions. This creates the well-known dynamic where protocols compete to influence emissions toward their own pools.
CRV is not a claim on Curve's revenue by itself; any fee-sharing arrangements are mediated through the veCRV system as described in the documentation. Curve's docs were recently reorganised into a unified hub, so older deep links into the documentation may not resolve.[6]
Risks and open questions
Curve is a smart-contract system, and its history includes a July 2023 incident in which a compiler vulnerability affected certain pools — a reminder that even long-running, heavily reviewed protocols carry contract risk. The vote-escrow design also concentrates influence among large, long-term lockers, which is a governance-centralisation trade-off.
Finally, CRV emissions are an ongoing issuance of new tokens; the long-term value of CRV depends on the protocol's fee generation relative to that issuance, which this profile does not attempt to forecast.
What the official sources do not say
UNKNOWN from official sources: current emission schedules and gauge-weight distributions, the present fee-split terms for veCRV holders, and up-to-date usage figures for Llamalend — all of these change over time and should be read from Curve's live documentation and interfaces.
It is not predicted here.
What this means when you hold or move CRV
If you hold CRV, locking it into veCRV is a time-locked commitment you cannot exit early, so only lock what you are comfortable leaving untouched.
When interacting with Curve contracts, use the official interface and verify contract addresses from Curve's documentation, because fake Curve front-ends are a common phishing target. Keep your transaction ID until delivery so you can trace it on a block explorer.

Fees and pricing
Zero added fees: SwapRocket does not add a platform fee, a minimum or a withdrawal charge — the rate you see is the rate you get. Blockchain network fees are shown in full before you confirm, and the final amount you receive is quoted up front.
SwapRocket does not add a separate fee or markup to the provider quote. SwapRocket may earn a commission from the liquidity provider when a completed swap is referred through our platform. Provider spreads and applicable network costs are reflected in the quoted amount.
Network fees are set by the blockchain, not by SwapRocket. No account, no subscription and no withdrawal charge. Live support is available 24/7.
CRV swap FAQ
How do I swap Curve DAO Token (CRV) instantly on SwapRocket?
Pick CRV as the asset you want to receive, choose what you're paying with, paste your wallet address, and confirm. SwapRocket hands your order to the provider whose quote pays out the most at that moment, and most swaps complete in under 10 minutes — no SwapRocket account needed.
Can I swap CRV with no KYC?
No SwapRocket account or identity documents are needed to start a crypto-to-crypto swap of CRV. The provider that executes the swap may still request identity verification or hold a swap for review under its own AML and sanctions policy, regardless of amount. Selling to a bank account goes through a regulated payment partner that verifies the payer; card purchases on SwapRocket are coming soon.
Is swapping Curve DAO Token on SwapRocket non-custodial?
Yes. SwapRocket never holds your funds. The provider that executes the swap receives your deposit, holds it only for the duration of the swap, and sends CRV to the wallet address you provide.
Which network does CRV use here?
SwapRocket supports Curve DAO Token on the ERC20 network. Always double-check that your receiving wallet supports this network before confirming.
What fees apply when I swap CRV?
SwapRocket adds no fee or markup to the provider's quote and may earn a commission from the provider on a completed swap. The provider's spread and any network cost it deducts on delivery are already reflected in the CRV amount shown; the network fee your own wallet charges to send the deposit is separate. Spreads vary by provider, pair and size, so compare the quoted receive amount.
